P:\Projects\0106.071 2025 Resident\J-REPORTS\VLF2 P3 Stage B.1
RoC Page 19
alignment. The adjusted alignment was not considered a deviation; however,
an 8-inch diameter perforated CPE collection pipe and nine of the 4-inch
diameter perforated pipe ends from Stage A could not be located. Upon review with
Foresight West survey, it was determined that the capped ends of the 8 inch and 4-inch
CPe pipes were approximately 8 feet to the west of the Stage A Stage B connection,
under the existing Drain Cover Fill and ore material. Due to the safety concerns of
excavating near the toe of the ore, 4-inch CPe pipes were not placed in this area.

NewFields reviewed the area using the IFC design and confirmed that the 8-inch, 60-foot
CPe pipe extension could be safely removed. The grading in the area where the 8-inch
CPe pipe was removed is generally steeper than four-foot horizontal to one-foot vertical
providing sufficient drainage. The 4-inch diameter CPe collection pipe designed to flow
into the removed 8-inch CPe pipe was re-routed to the 24-inch diameter CPe collection
pipe to the north. The remaining 4-inch CPe pipe specified to connect to Stage A CPe
piping were rerouted to adjacent larger collection pipes. The adjusted High Volume
Collection System design drawing is provided in Appendix L.

The drain cover fill material, composed of ore crushed on-site, was blended with lime
during the production process.NewFields produced a letter approving the mixing of lime
into the DCFO. The letter is provided in Appendix L.

5. ENGINEER’S OPINION
Based on the construction activities observed, testing performed, and inspections completed,
NewFields certifies that the project was constructed in general accordance with the approved IFC
Drawings and Technical Specifications.
