<br /> <br />Public Notice <br /> <br /> <br />The Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety, in accordance with Title 34, Article 33, of the Colorado <br />Revised Statutes, hereby issues notice that on October 20, 2025, a minor revision application (MR-491) to <br />the West Elk Mine, Permit No. C-1980-007, operated by Mountain Coal Company, LLC, 5174 Highway <br />133, Somerset, CO 81434 was considered complete for the purposes of filing. With Minor Revision no. <br />491 (MR-491), Mountain Coal Comapny seeks to permit the installation of an additional Nitrogen <br />Generator at the Mine Water Pumping Facility in Sylvester Gulch, and the Electrical Conduit (165’ <br />length) and 6” HDPE (50’ length) necessary to tie into existing infrastructure. The applicant is not <br />proposing additional surface disturbance outside of the area currently approved for disturbance. All <br />reviews and comment periods as provided in the Act and Regulations promulgated thereunder initiate <br />from this date of filing.
