7 'C IVED
OCT 0 8 2025
Nikie, Colorado Division of Reclamation,
Mining and Saftey
With the site being in the final stages of reclamation and being prepared
for final release, our plan is to control the weeds by keeping them sprayed
during the planting and growing time needed to achieve this objective.
Our first step will be to spray the whole site including the slopes of the
ponds to eliminate the weeds as a starting point, which will be done yet
this fall of 2025. A spray recommended and applied by a professional
with the experience will be used for this application. A spray that will kill
the weeds but leave the established grass alone is going to be applied.
Step two will be to disc and prepare the site for planting, working
around the areas with acceptable grass's already in place. Planting will
then proceed to be completed during the fall of 2025. The submitted
seed mix in the plan will be used as it is still recommended by the West
Greeley Soil Conservation District.
In the spring the weeds will be closely monitored and sprayed when
needed to keep them under control and to not affect the grass's growing
for the reclamation purposes. Our intent is to not let the weeds get
established and growing at all. According to people with knowledge in this
area, this is both accurate and achievable, this is how new crops, new sod
farm grass and new golf course's get started.
The plan is for this to take place this fall and to have grass growing in the
spring. Sounds simple, but it is quite different than our past efforts to
achieve the required results, and we have been assured this will work.
Please let me know if there are any questions.
