Kos, Paul
Subject: FW: Pikeview Quarry Reclamation Project M-1 977-211-AM04- Remaining Infrastructure
From: Deitemeyer, David <David.Deitemeyer@coloradosprines.gov>
Sent: Friday,September 19, 2025 1:38 PM
To:Jerald Schnabel<jerald schnabel@castleaggregate.com>
Subject: [EXTERNAL] Pikeview Quarry Reclamation Project M-1977-211-AM04- Remaining Infrastructure
Dear Jerry,
Please consider the following decision for the remaining infrastructure items at the Pikeview Quarry:
1. Leica building and prisms shall remain as part of the donation of the private property
2. Scale house (sales office) building shall remain as part of the donation of the private property.
a. This includes the building, adjacent small gravel parking area, retaining wall, landscaping
and utilities to support the use of the building. This desire has been communicated to Ms.
Ridley with DRMS in December 2024.
b. The City requests the scale and all components of the scale be removed. With the
removal of the scale, grading shall be completed in its place to ensure positive drainage
away from the building.
3. Former Topsoil location north of scalehouse -the area has been graded to the City's appetence
by Riverbend.
a. This area will be the future parking lot and trailhead for the Blodgett Open Space.
4. Driveway and access road to the Leica level shall remain as part of the donation of the private
property.
a. The Parks Department would like to confirm the roadway drainage correctly drains
towards the rock channel and not subject to fall line drainage
5. Stormwater basin has been graded, and stand pipes covered to City acceptance
a. Outfall of standpipes will be further addresses with rocks provided by the City.
All remaining items listed above have been approved as exceptions to the Pikeview DRMS permit# M-1977-
211-am04 and will remain in place. The city will accept these items as assets verses having the permit holder
destroy and remove each item.
i
