LISTS OF OTHER PERMITS AND LICENSES REQUIRED EXHIBIT
F
The following permits are needed for the site:
1)County (special use)approval - Delta County Planning office has already approved the
application as an extension of the existing 8.43 acre pit(Farnsworth#2 Pit).
2)No fugitive air emissions permit is needed since the site will mine less than 70,000 tons per year
and the operation will be wet in nature. Also, all processing will be done on the existing River
Bottom Pit immediately north of the river from this location. An APEN form has been filed with
CDPHE Air Quality Control to verify that the emissions are low enough that a permit is not
needed.
3)An application is being filed with the Division of Water Resources for a Gravel Well Permit to
allow for pit pumping and lake evaporation once the site is reclaimed. This permit includes an
augmentation plan and substitute water supply plan for the evaporation from the lake.
41)A State Highway access permit is not needed since the material sold from this operation will be
brought to market by truck using the existing access for the River Bottom Pit on State Highway
133. There will not be increased traffic on the road while the North Fork Pit is mined. The
Farnsworth#2 Pit will not sell any material while United is active on the site.
5)The discussions, with the USACE, concerning the intended bridge across the river have been
stopped since the bridge planned has been deleted from the plan. No reclamation will be
necessary where the bridge would have been.
35
North Fork Pit March 04
1
