Initial Wetland Restored Net Change
Disturbed Wetland
Depression No change due
Wetland- 0 acres to no disturbance
no wetlands will
be disturbed
No ramp will be No change
built and no
wetlands will be
disrupted
None(Since No change in
existing pond quantity of
will not be wetlands
mined)
Total 0 acres 0 acres Additional 0.0
acres
Note: The existing pond will be avoided in the current mining operation due to the need to obtain
an individual wetland permit from the COE if it is mined
There will be no need for restoration of wetlands, since no wetlands will be disturbed in this
operation. Land around the lake will be restored to dry range for wildlife habitat and a homesite for
the owners. These areas will have a minimum of 6 inches of replaced topsoil.
The final land use for the permit area will be wildlife habitat, recreation use and a possible home
site for the owners. As described earlier, the lake surface is expected to be 6.65 acres. Expected
water depth is approximately 16 feet. There will be no connection between the river and the lake,
as was specified by the CDOW, and the operator and landowner commit to not stocking the lake
with any non-native species.
Assuming that mining starts in June of 2004,the reclamation will commence upon completion of
mining. Map E-2 shows how the site will look after reclamation. The permittee and the
landowner commit to not stocking the small lake with any fish species that could be a threat to the
native species in the river.
27
North Fork Pit March 04
