<br /> <br />Notice of Proposed Decision <br /> <br /> <br />The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety has issued a proposed decision to <br />approve Bond Release Application No. 4 (SL-4) for the Bowie No. 2 Mine, Permit No. C-1996- <br />083. This application proposes the release of reclamation tasks for hauling gob out of the gob <br />pile #3 drying area; spreading and compacting gob at gob pile #3; placing coverfill and grading <br />at gob piles 1, 2, 3, and 4; plugging and sealing gob vent boreholes B17C, B17D, B17E and <br />B17F; plugging the Terror Creek Shaft; and backfilling the Terror Creek Fan site. The <br />underground operation is operated by Bowie Resources, LLC under the provisions of the Colorado <br />Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. The bond release application was submitted by <br />Bowie Resources, LLC on April 10, 2025. This application proposes the release of reclamation <br />tasks for hauling gob out of the gob pile #3 drying area; spreading and compacting gob at gob pile <br />#3; placing coverfill and grading at gob piles 1, 2, 3, and 4; plugging and sealing gob vent <br />boreholes B17C, B17D, B17E and B17F; plugging the Terror Creek Shaft; and backfilling the <br />Terror Creek Fan site.
