Natural Soda LLC 2023 Project Status Report & Annual Plan of Development <br /> 9 January 2024 <br /> <br />United States Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) <br />• January 12, 2023 NS sent EPA a request for the release of the DVPW-1 (EPA # <br />C032169-08754) bond monies ($63,140) and termination of the DVPW UIC <br />permit following the successful P&A of the DVPW-1 injection well in September <br />of 2022. The DVPW-1 was the only well on EPA permit C032169-00000. EPA <br />agreed with NS request for removal and sent a notification letter on January 24, <br />2023. <br />• NS coordinated with the EPA during the first half of 2023 to modify NS’s <br />subsurface subsidence monitoring well (SSMW) requirements. <br />• February 2023 NS coordinated with the EPA with regards to the confidentiality <br />of NS’s EPA quarterly report data. NS modified EPA reporting for 2023 to <br />comply with agreed upon confidentiality requirements. <br />• April 6, 2023 the EPA approved the 18H-IR-W UIC well permit (#C030358- <br />12525) and authorized construction. <br />• NS submitted EPA P&A reports for the 14H-R(I), 15H-I, and 17H-I injection <br />wells (EPA# CO30358-11614, 11004, and 11006 respectively) on October 4, <br />2023. EPA subsequently notified NS that the subject wells were removed from <br />the area permit C030358-0000 October 24, 2023. <br /> <br />Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety (DRMS) <br />• NS submitted annual reports and fees for DRMS Permits M 1983-194 and M- <br />1999-051 in January 2023. <br />• January 27, 2023 NS submitted a request for Technical Revision (TR) 50 to drill <br />and complete the 18H-1V and 18H-IR-W production wells, construct well pads, <br />access road, and pipeline; TR-50 was approved on February 14, 2023. TR-50 <br />approval increased NS financial responsibility to $4,466,425. NS put in place <br />appropriate financial warranty which was accepted by the DRMS on April 11, <br />2023. <br />• DRMS conducted an onsite 1st quarter inspection on April 3, 2023. DRMS <br />observed the process buildings and internal plant equipment. During the <br />inspection DRMS noted that the crystal habit modifier, defoamer, and oxygen <br />scavenger chemicals Material Safety Data Sheets (MSDS) were not on file with <br />the division, and requested they be filed no later than June 16. DRMS received <br />and acknowledged the requested MSDS from NS on April 26. No additional <br />problems or violations were noted during this inspection. <br />
