3. Describe the estimated topsoil depth and how topsoil will be salvaged, stockpiled and <br /> redistributed for the re-establishment of vegetation. Specify approximate topsoil <br /> redistribution depth: <br /> The pre-existing topsoil thickness is unknown at this time. Topsoil will be excavated to <br /> an adequate ep o capture the U, A, and E soil horizons, or to a maximum depth o <br /> 1 foot (whichever is less), The cleared area will be of adequate size and geometry to <br /> contain and isolate the topsoil stockpile, mud pit, mud pit spoils, drill collar, and <br /> ii,ii, ediate vvu,k di,ea where spilled di illing fluids risk Looritacting t!le g,Ound sul face. <br /> Topsoil will be evenly redistributed across the site in approximately the same depth that <br /> it was salvaged. Work will be conducted with a backhoe. <br /> 4. Describe how drill holes will be plugged (refer to Rule 5.4 of the Rules for required <br /> abandonment procedures): <br /> At the time of abandonment, the wells will be sealed using a sodium bentonite-type gel <br /> developed or use as abandonment flui a top b feetwill e filled with surrounding <br /> surficial materials The hole will be rapped with concrete a minimum of two feet <br /> beneath the ground surface. <br /> 5. Describe how portals, adits, shafts, ponds, excavations, or other disturbances will be <br /> reclaimed (refer to Rule 3 and Rule 5 for specific reclamation performance standards). <br /> You may wish to contact the Division for closure specifications. <br /> Drill pads will be graded to their original contours, topsoil will be distributed, and the disturbance <br /> ama will be seeded. Mud pits will be used to manage and contain the (JIGulating d1illing inud. <br /> The sump/mud pit will be excavated within the footprint of the drill pad, with the excavated <br /> spoils contained within the drill pad footprint as well. The excavated spoils will be isolated and <br /> clearly differentiated from the topsoil stockpile Following completion of the drilling the sump pits <br /> will be backfilled using the excavated spoils and drill cuttings and returned to the original site <br /> grade.
