Introduction
The Alamosa Pit No. 2 (Swift Pit) is located approximately 2.5 miles east and 2 miles north of
Alamosa, CO in Alamosa County at an elevation of 7546 feet. This amendment application is to
update the reclamation plan from Wetlands and Private Recreation to Rangeland, and address
the Division's request for a Substitute Water Supply Plan and Ground Water Monitoring Plan.
This amendment will also address the removal of all non-inert material and document the
timeline for reclamation. The site is fully mined out and is actively being reclaimed. As such,
this amendment will reference the previous mine plan and update the reclamation plan to reflect
rangeland. The depth of excavation was approximately 10 feet.
The site is bordered by rangeland to the north, south, west, and east. The General Location Map
in Exhibit A details the location of the Alamosa Pit No. 2 (Swift Pit). The surface and mineral
rights are owned by the Southwest Ready-Mix Inc. The permit area includes 40.0 acres.
