The sand and gravel being mined is modelled as cohesionless. Therefore, the driving property <br /> of slope stability will be the friction angle of the material (45°). <br /> In the Reclaimed Condition, the mining slope is backsloped to 3H:1V, depending on location. <br /> Given that the slope angle is lower than the friction angle it is expected that the lowest Factor of <br /> Safety failure slope will be greater than unity.
