The material parameters are based on our experience with similar <br /> materials as well as review of previous designs (Amec, 2011b; NewFields, 2020). <br /> Foundation (Sand and Gravel): Material properties for the sand and gravel foundation material <br /> are based on NewFields experience with similar materials. The material properties were <br /> conservatively estimated at 32 degrees, disregarding cohesion for conservatism. <br /> Foundation (Bedrock): The intact, bedrock foundation was assumed to have a friction angle of <br /> 45 degrees, disregarding cohesion. Based on our understanding of near surface rock conditions <br /> at the site, this material will not negatively influence the global stability of the facility. <br /> 5.1.4.
