• Results of numerous samples are presented in Table 4.8-8 for the Coyote Gulch site, S11. A large
decrease in TDS was observed beginning 2/20/80 at this site. Samples before this date were obtained
E
from a ground -water seep below the dam, white samples after this date are from surface discharge from
Coyote Reservoir. A much smaller fluctuation in concentrations is observed at the Coyote site than at
the No Name sites because a very large retention time is obtained in Coyote reservoir. The analysis of
Coyote reservoir water in July of 1980 as reflected in Table 4.8-9, shows that the water in the reservoir
is very good.
Results for sites S12 and S13 (Buzzard Gulch) show some significant concentrations of TSS and total
iron with ma>amum values of 720 and 28 mg/I, respectively. The p subscript indicates the sample was
taken from the settling pond just upstream of the sampling site. The TDS for the two analyses of site
S12 are very low for runoff from the Trapper Mine drainages. Two analyses from the old Empire
Energy pit, which intercepts most of the Buzzard Gulch drainage upstream of S12 and S13, are
presented. The TDS in the old Empire Energy pit was much lower in July of 1980 than in March of
1979. Water quality in this old mine pit was good.
4-221
PR-{
MAY 13 1998
