4. Reclamation Timetable Reclamation earthworks will occur as mining progresses
throughout the site. Reclamation seeding will occur after each previously mined phase is
topsoiled.
5. Revegetation Plan Each mine area will be reseeded once that area is topsoiled. Priorto
seeding, the soil may be disked to loosen surficial soils. Due to the mild grade broadcast
seeding will be utilized. The seed mix listed below will be used to revegetate the site with a
native grass mix on all surfaces. This seed mix is acceptable by the NRCS to revegetation of
dry rangeland areas. Heavyfurrows wilt be left in the tilled topsoil to provide moisture
concentration and shade areas in orderto promote better conditions for successful
vegetation establishment. Seeding will take place during the fall following topsoiling of
slopes. Slopes will be regraded, and topsoiled as soon as they are able to be reclaimed
and as additional mining areas become active.
Native Grass Seed Mix Species Pounds of pure live seed per acre:
SPECIES POUNDS OF PURE LIVE SEED PER ACRE
Blue grama 1 .8
Western wheatgrass 9.6
Sideoats grama 1.8
Needle and thread 2.2
Indian ricegrass 1.2
2
