4. Description of the Effect of Mine Waste Removal on Wildlife
Mine waste removal activities will temporarily affect wildlife through habitat disturbance and increased
human presence. Short-term impacts include displacement of wildlife from active work areas, potential
disruption of movement corridors, and temporary loss of foraging habitat. Noise and activity may
temporarily deter elk use during calving season and affect bird nesting in immediate work areas.
However, the long-term effects of waste removal will benefit wildlife by eliminating potential exposure to
contaminated materials and improving habitat quality.
London Mountain Clean Up
April 2025 H-2 Lewicki&Associates
