Ref.Page No. M2009-006 00087
6.4.9 EXHIBIT/—Soils Information
Soils in the eastern foothills of this region of Larimer County, Colorado are generally
well drained and formed in materials weathered from sedimentary substrates.
The soil on and in the vicinity of the Subject Property is a shallow, well-drained soil
with a surface layer of stoney sandy loam up to 11 inches deep. The surface layer is
a dark grayish brown stony loam (approx. 6 inches) and a subsurface layer of dark
grayish brown very stony sandy loam (approx. 5 inches). The soil layer are on uplands
and are underlain by bedrock of hard dense sandstone at depths of 10 to 20 inches.
Attached as Attachment 1 to this Exhibit I is a copy of the USDA Natural Resource
Conservation Service(NRCS) "Custom Soil Resource Report for Larimer CountyArea,
Colorado—Meadow Hollow Quarry dated December21, 2023"(the"NRCS Report").
The following soil types were observed at the project site in the NCRS Report:
• Baller, bouldery-Horsetooth, stony-Rock-outcrop complex: This
comprises approximately 63% of the Subject Property. Batter-Rock Outcrop
Complex(the"Complex") consists of strongly sloping to steep soils on ridges
and "hogbacks." This Complex defines the predominance of the area of the
Subject Property. The Complex is comprised of approximately 50% Batter
stony sandy loam and 30%rock outcrops. Any loose surface soil has between
35% and 70%stones and cobbles.
• Emigrant, bouldery-Red Mountain, stony-Rock-outcrop complex: This
comprises approximately 37% of the Subject Property.
• Nunn clay loam This is not present on the Subject Property but is present
immediately east of the Affected Land.
All of the above listed soil classifications are defined as"well-drained" Mean annual
precipitation ranges between 15 to 17 inches, with mean annual air temperatures
approximately 48 degrees Fahrenheit and between 135 to 150 annual frost free days.
Permeability is moderately rapid and available water capacity is low. Reaction is
neutral. Included with this Complex is about 20% Carnero soils and areas of soils
that are similar to the Batter soil, but which has a"clayey"subsoil. The Carnero series
consists of moderately deep , well drained soils, with moderately slow permeability
and medium available water capacity and neutral reaction.
The soil is suited to native gasses and scrub, with scattered stands of ponderosa pine
in a few areas.
