[ref. 6.4.4, item (j).] A well-established roadway has existed on the Subject
Property which pre-dates the date of this Application and which have been used for
activities other than (or in addition to) historic mining operations (the "Existing
Roadway") (shown in yellow highlighting on Image D-1 below). The Existing Roadway is
shown on the images and maps of the Subject Property as a loop road through the
Subject Property. The Existing Roadway is approximately 35 feet wide and 1,780 feet
long (approx. 1.43 acres in total area) through the Subject Property.
The Subject Property is situated at the end of a privately maintained road commonly
known as S. County Road 31 ("SCR 31") (shown in red highlighting on Image D-1 below).
SCR 31 is a dirt road which begins at the terminus of the Larimer County maintained N.
County Road 31 at its intersection with Gregory Road. SCR 31 is the only access to the
Subject Property and will be used for ingress and egress of the mine site. The Applicant
has historically provided maintenance support of SCR 31 to help alleviate impact of
trucking and transport activities on SCR 31 (e.g. grading, snow removal, watering for
dust mitigation).
Limited additional road construction is necessary on the Subject Property. Necessary
temporary roads will be constructed as required to provide access to the mining
operations. These roads will be constructed primarily with excess non-saleable stone,
crushed stone and/or overburden material. Roadways will not need to be constructed
outside the permitted area and will be graded, covered, or scarified to facilitate
revegetation.
Rest of page intentionally left blank.
