Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative*
As a resident of Nederland, directly downstream from the mine, I am extremely concerned about the proposed
expansion.
Since Tom Hendricks died, and the management at Grand Island Resources LLC has reportedly made a
number of serious blunders that I'm sure you are aware of-falling out of compliance with acceptable levels of
heavy metals is water discharge, failure to communicate critical information to the City, non-compliance with
discharge permits, and failing to submit pollutant reports.
Given these recent and regular failures, it does not seem that Grand Island Resources is committed to
operating in a safe, environmentally friendly manner. Based on this and the potentially disastrous impact on the
nearby water resources, wildlife, and mountain residents I strongly urge you to NOT approve their request for
expansion.
Sincerely,Mike Dye
Permitting Action Comment/Objection is Regarding
• New Permit Change to Existing Permit
