Comment/Objection Narrative*
I strongly oppose any continuation or expansion of the Cross Mine at Caribou as the land has more value to
residents of Boulder County and surrounding areas as a great place to recreate and enjoy the outdoors than
what could possibly be gained from any shortsighted attempts at destroying the land for resource extraction. I
personally backcountry ski at Caribou and considered it a second home in many ways and believe a real
treasure would be lost if the mine was expanded.Also worthwhile mentioning is potential toxic run off from the
mine could likely contaminate our drinking water. Generally this is a foolish idea to even consider expansion of
the mine and there are little to no benefits for local citizens of Boulder County.
