Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative*
I am concerned about the GIR's track record for treating waste water. Increasing the output of the mine 20x
does not increase our risk 20x. It is exponential,we are exposed to thousands of times more risk. It isn't just
putting our waterways, drinking water, and wildlife at risk,it is putting the county under significant financial risk.
If GIR is to be derelict in their duties,as they were in December 2024 when they failed to explain a copper
reading that was 15x the allowed limit,we must clean up their mess. With cuts being made to many of our
environmental programs like the EPA looming, this is even more dangerous. There may soon be no one to hold
GIR accountable. It is easy to imagine Boulder becoming a repeat of what has happened in Flint Michigan.
If we are to allow GIR to enrich themselves while having no skin in the game,we will pay the price.Citizens of
Boulder county will not forget.
Permitting Action Comment/Objection is Regarding
• New Permit Change to Existing Permit
Permit Number*(?)
Enter a valid permit number
M1977410
