Comment/Objection Narrative*
I am simply a recreational user of the area,but having spent countless nights in the Caribou area,and reading
the accounts of illegal discharges,in addition to the historic abuse of lands in the area of mining operations
(bound to be abandoned and left to the state to clean up when picked clean)I'd like to voice my objection to this
expansion.The outdoor recreation industry provides a positive GDP benefit almost equal to that of mining,and
is clearly a better long-term investment for the state than a resource that by definition will eventually run out,
whereas the appeal of this state's natural appeal for recreation should last indefinitely(pending destruction by
mining operations).
