Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative*
In regards to the expansion of the mine owned by Grand Island Resources, LLC,and their application for
expansion, Permit#M1977410, I as a local community member do not support the expansion of their mine,
mining operations,or any related activities herein by the permit applicant.As a member of the local community
and user of public lands,the expansion of this mine would only serve the interest of the mine owners and their
share holders; but would limit access to the broader community such as the residents of Nederland,Ward,
Allenspark, Rollinsville,and Boulder amongst others,from using this area for recreation purposes, including but
not limited to hiking,cycling, hunting,fishing,off road vehicle use,camping,and skiing. If this permit is allowed,
there is the possibility of damaging the already fragile alpine and tundra ecosystems in the Indian Peaks
Wilderness; potentially pollute our riparian ecosystems and watershed;cause harm to wildlife,flora and fauna;
and potentially lead to temporary, permanent or otherwise irreparable damage. I implore that those reviewing
the application for the expansion of this mine deny it's expansion for the reasons listed above.Thank you for
your time and consideration regarding this matter.
Permitting Action Comment/Objection is Regarding
New Permit Change to Existing Permit
