Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative*
I strongly object to GIR'S proposal to expand the mine to 200 acres. This is a massive expansion in an area
that is an important recreational gateway and would be incompatible with public use of the area and would
imperil public safety and egress. The amount of polluted water generated would be untreatable with the mine's
current approach.GIR does not have a comprehensive environmental plan and safety record thatjustifies this
expansion. They have barely met standards at the current level of their operation.Their bond to assure
reclamation of the area should also be increased by at least 400%to compensate for the significant impact and
associated costs the public will be at risk of incurring for reclamation. I also respectfully request a public hearing
to better inform the public. There was no local advertising informing the public of the mine's plans with specific
information from GIR as required by law.Thank you for your consideration of these issues.
Permitting Action Comment/Objection is Regarding
New Permit - Change to Existing Permit
Permit Number* (')
Enter a valid permit number
M1977410
