Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative
I've read through their permit and find it wildly unsatisfactory given the environmental and human impacts this
mine would create, not to mention they've already shown their disregard for our community and it's watershed.
This is way too close to a growing community, and right in the middle of a year round recreation area
frequented by people from all over the state. Multiple mountain biking and hiking trails run through this area,
also frequented in summer by 4-wheelers, motorcycles and equestrians. In the winter-one of the more popular
and safer backcountry ski destinations in Colorado. The fact that Boulder County is even considering this is
astonishing given that the two creeks that run directly through this mining area both flow into Nederland, the
reservoir and Boulder. I think it's time for the county and the community to stand their ground a protect one of
the last unique mountain towns in Colorado and it's surrounding forest, creeks, rivers and mountains. Not only
for the current residents, but for all of the children growing up here that will likely continue to call the Nederland
area home. Please do the right thing. No more mining at this location, and definitely no expansion of the areas
they wish to mine.
Permitting Action Comment/Objection is Regarding
• New Permit Change to Existing Permit
