I am a <br /> resident of Nederland and recreate frequently in the Caribou area. I have serious reservations regarding the <br /> ability of Grand Island Resources to successfully avoid contaminating water sources for the residents of <br /> Nederland and downstream Boulder for the entirety of the time the mine is operating,and beyond. Further,the <br /> mine sits in a unique and delicate ecosystem that helps define the character of Nederland. Disruption to that <br /> ecosystem in the form or noise or light pollution,dust,surface disturbance, presence of heavy machinery,or <br /> any number of other things would alter that character and negatively impact local wildlife. It is also not clear to <br /> me given the available resources what the impact of this expansion may be to those who frequent the Caribou <br /> area.As someone who spends significant time recreating in the area in every season, it's of paramount <br /> importance that access to and quality of experience in the area be preserved.
