Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative*
I am writing to express my objection to the proposed re-opening and expansion of the Cross Gold Mine near
Nederland,CO. I have significant concerns regarding the potential risk of watershed pollution and
environmental impacts associated with this project. The Middle Boulder Creek watershed is a critical water
source for downstream communities, including the town of Nederland and city of Boulder. The expansion of the
Cross Gold Mine operation poses a substantial risk of contaminating this watershed as the mine has previously
had chemical leaks into groundwater, resulting in a cease and desist order.Additionally, the expansion of the
mine would inevitably lead to further destruction of the surrounding natural environment and disruption of
wildlife habitat.Caribou is a beloved recreation area for locals all along the peak to peak, including myself, and
destruction of the flora&fauna in the area would be devastating. Given the above reasons, I strongly believe
that the re-opening and expansion of the Cross Gold Mine should be denied. The protection of our water
resources and natural environment must take precedence over short-term economic gains.
Permitting Action Comment/Objection is Regarding
New Permit Change to Existing Permit
Permit Number* (?)
Enter a valid permit number
M1977410
I
