Please be as specific
as possible.
Comment/Objection Narrative*
Grand Island Resources categorically cannot be trusted with any mining operations in Boulder County, let alone
expanding their operating area. The whole reason the company is going through this process now is due to
failing to protect public waterways and endangering public health the last time they were allowed to operate in
Boulder County. The mine operating does not bring jobs to Boulder County, the operators of the mine are a
foreign-owned conglomerate and their employees do not live in the local town nor have they ever patronized
local businesses. There is no benefit to approving this permit.
Approval of the permit would also severely affect local public lands access-recreation on said public lands
provides much more economic benefit to the local community without poisoning the land and the water
surrounding the mine. Hiking, Backcountry Skiing,Snowshoeing, Mountain Biking are just some of the pursuits
that would be harmed and hampered with approval of this project. That cannot stand when they are the
revenue drivers of the town of Nederland.
Permitting Action Comment/Objection is Regarding
New Permit Change to Existing Permit
