Additionally, an estimated 20,100 cubic yards was salvaged from the
disturbance associated with the downhill conveyor project. After the downhill
conveyor project was complete, the following topsoil is projected to be
available for reclamation.
During the construction of the B -Seam portals and the preparation plant
approximately 43,000 cubic yards were salvaged. The available topsoil for
reclamation is as follows:

The 5,300 cubic yards of topsoil salvaged during the construction of Pond C
and the gob pile is stored in topsoil stockpiles D and E. An addition 800
cubic yards of topsoil was added to topsoil stockpile E during the expansion
of the coverfill pile during 2003.

A total of 52,865 cubic yards of topsoil was stripped and stockpiled during the
construction of the unit train loadout. This quantity results in an average 1.3
foot replacement depth within the disturbed area at the loadout including the
disturbance associated with Ponds J & K. The topsoil is stored in topsoil
stockpile F. Construction of Gob Pile No. 3 will result in approximately
42,000 CY of topsoil that will be stored in Topsoil Stockpile F-1.
The design of the gob pile in 2003 was a 10 -year design. At the time of
this writing, in May 2006, the gob pile is nearly full and ready to be
reclaimed. To reclaim the entire gob pile, approximately 0.5 feet of topsoil
will be placed on the completed construction face. In total, the operator
salvaged approximately 42,500 CY of topsoil. Material from the stockpile,
new borrow area and the topsoil stockpile will be utilized for reclamation.
