January 14, 2025 C-1981-008/New Horizon Mine LJW <br /> <br />Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 5 <br />Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 2 <br /> <br /> Page 3 of 7 <br /> <br /> <br />Adjacent to BB Road, in the southern portion of the Johnson Property area lies Pond 016. Similar to Ponds 12 and <br />15, Pond 16 contained no water and showed no evidence of recent impoundment. The embankment is well <br />vegetated and appeared stable during the inspection. The pond and its embankment can be seen in Photo Five. <br /> <br />Located to the Southeast of the Facilities area, downgradient from the topsoil storage area lies Pond 018. The <br />pond was found to be in good condition with no standing water nor evidence of recent impoundment. The <br />embankment is well vegetated and appeared to be functioning as designed as seen in Photo Six. <br /> <br />TOPSOIL – Rule 4.06 <br />Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4: <br /> Also observed during this inspection were the Topsoil stockpiles associated with Ponds 12 and 16. The <br />topsoil stockpile adjacent to Pond 12 can be seen in Photo Seven and appeared to be stable and in good condition. <br />The stockpile is vegetated for stability and no evidence of sediment transport was noted. The ring berm used to <br />contain any potential erosion around the pile was intact and functioning as designed. <br /> <br />The stockpile adjacent to Pond 16 was found to be in similar condition as seen in Photo Eight. This stockpile is <br />also well vegetated for stability and no evidence of erosion was seen. The ring berm surrounding the pile was in <br />tact and functioning as designed. <br />PHOTOGRAPHS <br /> <br />
