PROJECT MANAGER. This price shall include all materials, labor, equipment, rentals, coordination time, and all other items necessary and incidental to complete the tasks described in ITEM 7.0. ADDITIONAL BID ITEMS There are included on the Bid Schedule, several additional bid items. These bid items are not guaranteed and will be used only in the event that conditions change on site, and only after approved by the PROJECT MANAGER. The additional bid items for this project include: ITEM 8.0 Equipment Rental-ADDITIONAL (NOT GUARANTEED) Provide a 16,000 pound excavator, with operator, in accordance with Section 19, General Bid Specifications, 2009, as required by the PROJECT MANAGER. The estimated amount of equipment hours that may be required is five hours (5 hrs.) Measurement and Payment The number of hours the equipment used as directed by PROJECT MANAGER under this specification will be counted to the nearest one half hour. Payment will be made at the unit price established by the Invitation and Bid Schedule. Such payment shall include the cost of all materials, accessories, labor, maintenance, operating supplies, salaries of operators, and any other expenses incidental to the operation of the equipment in the performance of work in accordance with this specification and bid item(s). Payment for this task will be upon completion of installation and upon approval of the PROJECT MANAGER. No extra payment will be made for the use of the same equipment while performing work on other bid items on the Invitation and Bid Sheet, Bid Schedules or Purchase Order Contract. No additional payment will be made for hauling equipment to or away from the work site except as may be proper under Mobilization/Demobilization. PROJECT OBSERVATION The PROJECT MANAGER will be at the project site periodically to monitor construction activities and ensure that each work item is completed and constructed to design specifications. The PROJECT MANAGER will be available during regular business hours (8:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M.) on weekdays. Inspections will not be scheduled on weekend days or holidays without prior approval of the PROJECT MANAGER. It is the Contractor's responsibility to schedule inspections with the PROJECT MANAGER so as not to delay the work. The following items must be observed and approved by the PROJECT MANAGER before proceeding with additional work: 1. Placement and installation of Sediment Control Measures. 2. Placement and installation of water control measures on access road. 3. Approval of asbestos mitigation contractor prior to conducting asbestos abatement. Page 124
