Brannan Sand and Gravel Company — Valley's Edge Resource SWSP Renewal Request
October 31, 2023
This site is currently under reclamation and backfill is expected to occur during this SWSP
period. Currently, some of the mining areas have exposed groundwater, left over from
mining, which will be backfilled over time. The proposed final reclamation is backfill and
subsequent surface development. Depletions during future mining and post-mining periods
will be addressed in subsequent renewals. No offsite dewatering will occur. Consumptive
use at Valley's Edge Resource consists mostly of evaporative losses from exposed
groundwater with smaller amounts of use for dust control and water retained in removed
product.
The resulting depletions to the South Platte River will be replaced using a lease of
augmentation water from the City of Aurora, discharged from the Metro Wastewater
Reclamation District Robert W. Hite Treatment Facility. This SWSP request covers the
relevant period between November 1, 2024 through October 31, 2 02 5.
a I-R677w R66W d
y Mining Centroid
+.
8 17
rU Approx.GW Exp.
Approx.Mining Extent
VRE Pit Boundary
`. 1112 Alluvial Extent
JJJ
TiN r
.I
All
r
25
!!,
5 _ a aI
Figure 1.Vicinity map of Valley's Edge Resource site
2.
