Standard Operating Procedures – Ore Sampling <br />1) Ensure the appropriate equipment has been acquired and prepared. <br />2) Prepare a work area for sampling equipment and sample containers. <br />3) Use required safety and health equipment, including PPE, as required. <br />4) Fill out the field data sheet with the following information: date and time of sample, name of <br />sample, and sample location. <br />5) Prepare sample containers with lab instructions. <br />a. Site name <br />b. Sample ID/location. <br />c. Date and time of sampling. <br />d. Analyses requested (if lab requires) <br />e. Type of preservative (if any) <br />f. Initials of sampler <br />6) For ore, collect at least 50 pounds of ore from within the ore pad. <br />a. Screen ore to lab required size limit. <br />b. Place ore sample into a clean container for transport. <br />c. Secure the samples with packing material and ship them to the laboratory. <br />d. Place all disposable sampling materials (plastic sheeting, disposable samplers, and <br />health and safety equipment) in appropriately labeled containers. <br />7) Quality Assurance <br />a. Field-derived quality assurance blanks or duplicates will be collected once every ten <br />samples. <br />5. Ore Reporting Schedule <br />Ore will be sampled and tested once every 5000 tons of ore processed. Sample results will be reported <br />to CDRMS within 60 days of sampling to account for lab processing time.
