Cross Gold Mine
December 2024 U-9

9. Designated Chemicals and Materials Handling
The MCP located in Appendix U-1 addresses the handling and storage of specific chemicals on site.
This subsection pertains specifically to the designated chemicals stored on site. Fuel is not a
designated chemical.
All chemical storage will be inspected daily during operations. During any temporary shutdown,
reagents used in the water treatment facility will be kept onsite as needed.
All froth flotations reagents will be dosed into the milling process within the mill building. Reagent
dosing may be by hand delivery or by electronic control and pump. Mixing and preparing of reagents
will take place within the reagent storage area within the mill building. No flotation reagent mixing will
take place outside the mill building. No flotation reagent dosing will take place outside of the mill
building.

MetSorb HMRG is an adsorbent material used in the water treatment facility as a polisher.
MetSorb HMRG should be stored in a dry, cool, well-ventilated place. Store in the original container
away from moisture.
MetSorb HMRG is considered to be stable and non-reactive. It is a dry, white powder or granules with
no odor.
MetSorb HMRG can cause eye damage, skin irritation, and respiratory irritation.
MetSorb HMRG is used to adsorb heavy metals from mine water during filtration.

All flotation reagents will be detailed in the mill revision that will be provided once final designs for the
mill and milling process are selected by the operator.

A list of designated chemicals and the maximum quantities to be stored on the site at any given time
can be seen in Table U-2. MetSorb HMRG comes in 72-gallon drums.
All chemicals will be delivered to Cross Gold Mine via a licensed contractor. Chemicals will be unloaded
directly into their standard storage CONEX at the mine.
Table U-2. Maximum Designated Chemical Storage
Reagent Purpose Quantity Volume
MetSorb HMRG Adsorption 2000 lbs. 72 gals
