Cross Gold Mine
December 2024 D-1

Exhibit D Mining Plan
The Cross Gold Mine extracts metal-bearing ores from vein structures located in and around the
Caribou and Boulder County Hills. To date, underground mining has relied on shrinkage stoping and
stope-fill methods. These approaches will continue as development targets ore-bearing vein structures
identified through ongoing exploration. Exploration drilling has been conducted both at the surface and
from the underground workings throughout the mine’s operational history, and this practice will be
maintained moving forward.
The mining plan described in this exhibit is also depicted on the Exhibit C maps. The Cross Gold Mine
remains in active production, and with identified reserves supporting an annual extraction rate of 70,000
tons, the operation could potentially continue for up to 50 years.
On a daily basis, typical production rates are anticipated to average approximately 100 tons of ore.
1. General Mining Plan
The Cross Gold Mine primarily produces gold and silver, with lead and zinc occasionally recovered as
secondary metals. Additionally, the mine generates waste rock that is screened on-site atop the Waste
Rock Landform (WRL) area for use as road base. All references to “waste rock” in this permit refer to
non-acid forming (NAF) material. Potentially acid forming (PAF) waste rock is specifically addressed in
Exhibit U. Water sprays are utilized for dust control.
NAF waste rock will be used on-site, and any surplus may be sold to third parties for use as
construction aggregate. Grand Island Resources (GIR) will maintain a maximum of approximately
20,000 cubic yards of waste rock on-site. Although the development of an on-site mill is planned, final
design details are not yet available. Until the mill receives approval from the Colorado Division of
Reclamation, Mining, and Safety (CDRMS), the Cross Mine ore will continue to be processed off-site.
No changes to explosives usage are proposed beyond what is currently permitted. Furthermore, there
will be no impacts to off-site areas as described in the Geotechnical Stability Exhibit.
The layout of the surface facilities and mining-related infrastructure is illustrated on Map C-2.
2. Period of Mining
This mining operation is ongoing, and with known reserves and an annual production rate of
approximately 70,000 tons, it could potentially continue for up to 50 years. No intermittent production
periods are anticipated.
3. Mining Areas
The Cross Gold Mine consists of two principal areas: the Operations Area and the Comstock Area. The
Operations Area consists of the Cross Mine Adit, the Idaho Tunnel Portal, the waste rock landform
(WRL), the proposed mill site, the ore storage facility, all water treatment systems, and the mine office.
