<br />Cross Gold Mine <br />December 2024 ERP-11 <br /> <br /> <br />• Cleanup with water is allowed; contain all runoff, excavate an emergency catch basin, if <br />possible. <br />Remediation: <br />• Evaluate situation. <br />• Absorb spilled materials, if possible, with earth or other suitable material. <br />• Transport contaminated soil to the Precious Metals waste pile storage area for temporary <br />storage until a permanent disposal site is determined. <br />Corrosives <br />PPE: Full-coverage acid suit; self-contained breathing apparatus (alternately full-face respirator with <br />combination cartridges for very small fires that can be quickly knocked down); face-shield; rubber <br />gloves and boots. <br />Response: <br />• Evaluate situation. <br />• Secure area. <br />• All electrical equipment must be de-energized. <br />• Rescue & First Aid, if necessary & possible. <br />• For a small fire use available dry-chemical fire extinguishers to knock down the fire. Do not use <br />water. <br />• For large fires, concentrate on protecting adjacent structures and slowly flood areas with water <br />from a safe distance. <br />• Direct extinguishing agent in a manner to avoid splashing spilled material. <br />• Dam and dike at a safe distance to control runoff, excavate an emergency catch basin, if <br />possible. <br />• Perform overhaul if spilled material can be avoided. <br />Remediation: <br />• Evaluate situation. <br />• Certify fire was extinguished. <br />• Absorb spilled materials, if possible, with earth or other suitable material. <br />• Transport contaminated soil to the ore storage for temporary storage until a permanent disposal <br />site is determined. <br />Flammable Materials (No Fire) <br />PPE: Work clothes; rubber gloves; and rubber boots (chemical cartridge air-purifying respirator if <br />available). <br />Response: <br />• Evaluate situation. <br />• Secure area. <br />• Rescue & First Aid, if necessary & possible. <br />• Remove ignition sources. <br />• Locate the fire extinguisher and keep it near at hand. <br />• Dam or dike to contain material.
