Excess equipment will
be repurposed offsite or hauled to an approved landfill for disposal such as Republic Services Foothills
Landfill (approximately 29.5 miles to the east). All remaining explosives will be disposed according to
regulation and approved methods. Any remaining fuels, lubricants, designated chemicals (if any) will be
disposed of in approved facilities such as BOCO Hazardous Materials Management Facility in Boulder
Colorado (approximately 21.9 miles to the east). All equipment and scrap will be removed from the
area.
Materials that are potentially salable will be salvaged and sold. This will reduce the amount of waste
that would be transported to a waste facility. Storage containers will be removed from the site and
repurposed offsite, if possible. If these facilities cannot be repurposed, they will be hauled to an
approved landfill for disposal such as Front Range Landfill (approximately 40 miles to the east). Trash,
weeds, and other debris that will interfere with seeding operations will be removed and disposed of in
an approved landfill such as Front Range Landfill.
Facilities and structures that are left as part of the post mining land use will meet Boulder County land
use and building regulations.

The waste rock landform (WRL) area will be used for all waste rock generated on site. It can be seen
on Maps C-2 and F-1. Most of the waste rock will be eliminated prior to reclamation. This waste rock is
chemically inert and useful for road maintenance and is expected to leave the site over time for use on
area Forest Service and County Roads. Waste rock may also be sold to aggregate companies for use.
Any waste rock left in the WRL will be graded to a final slope of 2H:1V and seeded.
As all ore will be stored in the ore building, there is no ore pile on the site that will require reclamation.
Mining and reclamation of pre-law waste dumps will be addressed in a separate technical revision if
GIR chooses to pursue those dumps.

Ponds 1, 2, 3A, 3B, and 3C will be reclaimed following their period of use. Ponds 1 and 3(A–C) will be
removed during the installation of the enhanced water treatment piping system. Once Pond 2 is no
longer required for stormwater sediment control, it will also be reclaimed. All liners, underlying
subgrade, and any accumulated solids from the ponds will be removed and transported to an approved
