M-2001-001 Line Camp Pit Amendment#2 (Expansion)
NiFF
22. Incidental products (6.3.3.(o)): no incidental products are anticipated.
23. Explosives (drilling and blasting) (6.3.3.(p)): no drilling and blasting will be done at the pit.
24. Management of storm water in accordance with CDPS requirements (:
a. Objective: prevent or minimize surface discharge of runoff, including downstream
sedimentation, from the site by retaining water.
b. General concept: Management of storm water is integrated into the mining and reclamation
plans. This section summarizes the surface water management plan.
c. Divert runoff from upslope (SH-145 ROW). Buffer zone of approximately 1,000 feet on parcel
outside permit area to the north is forested and generally flows into the river or infiltrates.
d. Provide work areas with shallow swales and basins to allow infiltration and evaporation to
ensure good trafficability and reduce tracking.
e. Grade areas being mined and reclaimed to drain to ponds and basins.
f. Use silt-fencing and other structural best management practices(BMP)very sparingly, at
locations where there is not a desire to allow sediment to wash into ponds or swales.
g. Control/prevent soil erosion on outer edge of exterior berms by grading(rough surface and
swales at toe) and vegetation: minimize use of silt-fencing, rock check dams, straw bales, etc.
h. Prevent surface or piped outfalls from the site, other than the permitted outfall at the southeast
corner of the parcel. Inspect all exterior berms and edges of excavations and ponds within 24
hours of storm events of greater than 0.1 inches and during/after high water events on the
river; document and repair as necessary.
i. Place shallow swales at the toe of stockpiles, including berms,to allow water to infiltrate/
evaporate, and capture sediment off stockpiles.
j. Evaluate and relocate BMP as mining progresses. Update map as required.
k. Carry out BMPs for inspection and maintenance, including good housekeeping, repair and
maintenance, including inspections quarterly and following precipitation events.
I. Provide annual training to all miners.
m. Follow spill prevention and response plan for site.
n. Document all actions.Submit DMR/Inspections as per permit requirements.
Figure D.1 Cross-section along highway(west edge of pit looking north)
None Ditch Bockslope and maintain
vertical cut for safety.
H-145
„Matti Safety
Harm 3' high
Use materiel
Frog berm
to bockfiU
shore aF pane
ZS
5182-22-001 WASTELINE, INC.
