INTRODUCTION •
The proposed Evans Mining Resource is located just north of the intersection of County Road
35 and County Road 394 in Weld County, CO. The property is bound by the South Platte River
to the north. Asphalt Specialties Co., Inc. (Asphalt Specialties) is the permittee, and Hunt
Brothers Properties, Inc. is the landowner of the proposed aggregate mining operation. The site
contains a group of agricultural fields, an oil production facility, aggregate material processing,
asphalt& concrete recycling, and an asphalt plant. Mining access to the site will utilized the
existing industrial access to CR394.
Asphalt Specialties is proposing that the site be mined for sand and gravel resources for use in
construction materials. The permit and affected area of this operation will be 159.2 acres. The
mineable area is 99.3 acres, divided into three cells. The total area being mined at one time will
be limited to 50 acres. Reclamation will convert the site to water storage ponds surrounded by
rangeland. A portion of the ponds may be refilled based on market conditions for inert fill
disposal.
Evans Mining Resource
October 2024 i-1 Lewicki&Associates
