(iv) The quality of surface and groundwater within and adjacent to
the permit area that may be affected by underground mining.
Not applicable.
(b) Plan requirements
(i) Drainage plan.
Train Loadout Drainage Control Plan.
The train loadout drainage plan consists of retaining run-off
water from the sixteen -acre disturbed area in a 1.8 acre-foot
sedimentation pond.
Run-off is directed to the sedimentation pond from the train
loadout area. The shop area naturally flows by gravity to the
sedimentation pond. The western end of the train loadout area
near the truck dump station drains over the fill slope to the
drainage along the railroad tracks. Run-off from the railroad
track drains downgrade to the sedimentation pond.
The run-off is contained within a berm on the south side of the
spur at the train loadout building. Map 7 shows drainage plans
in this area.
Coal Stockpile Drainage Control Plan.
A sedimentation pond with 0.35 acre-feet of storage volume
receives run-off from the coal stockpile area. The "V" ditches
constructed around the perimeter and the constructed grade of
the area carries run-off to the sedimentation pond.
Transportation Facilities Drainage Control Plan.
The transportation facilities' drainage has been designed and
constructed to minimize erosion, sedimentation, and
detrimental effects to surface and groundwater. The theory
used is to direct run-off from facilities to sedimentation ponds, if
possible, or in order to minimize visual impacts and disturbed
RN -07 2.05-38 03/18
