(blue earth <br /> SOLUTIONS <br /> October 7, 2024 <br /> RECEIVED <br /> Colorado Department of Natural Resources OCT 10 2024 <br /> Division of Reclamation, Mining and Safety <br /> Attn: Mr. Joel Renfro <br /> 1313 Sherman Street; Room 215 Colorado Division of Reclamation, <br /> Mining and Safety <br /> Denver Colorado, 80203 <br /> RE: Response to Adequacy Review Comments for Connell Resources, Inc. <br /> 5J Pit No. M-2024-032 <br /> Dear Mr. Renfro: <br /> The following discussion and attachments are submitted on behalf of our client, Connell <br /> Resources, Inc., in response to the Adequacy Review comments prepared by the Division of <br /> Reclamation, Mining and Safety (the Division) dated October 3, 2024, for the 5J Pit <br /> 112 Construction Materials Reclamation Permit application. The information and discussion <br /> below addresses each comment as it was presented by the Division: <br /> 1.6.5 Public Notice Procedures <br /> 1. Proof of publication and notice to surface owners is attached. In addition to the transmittal <br /> letters and the public notice, a copy of Exhibit B — Vicinity Map, was sent to each surface <br /> owner. <br /> 6.4.4 Exhibit D—Mining Plan <br /> 2. The processing,recycling, and asphalt facilities will all be portable units and,therefore,mobile <br /> with no permanent foundations. <br /> The primary components of the processing facility will include the material hopper, feeder, <br /> and primary crusher that occupy an area of approximately 50 feet by 100 feet. Additional <br /> components may include secondary crushing units and a variety of portable conveying and <br /> screening equipment. Several pit-run and product stockpiles will also be associated with the <br /> processing facility. The facility is anticipated to cover an area of approximately 5 acres. <br /> The recycling facility will be similar in types of components/equipment and size to the <br /> processing facility. <br /> The primary components of the portable asphalt batch plant, including the drying drum, mixer, <br /> dust collection system, aggregate feeder, and asphalt tank, will occupy an area approximately <br /> 50 feet by 200 feet.
