DIVISION 2-SITE WORK <br /> SECTION 02290—RECLAMATION SLOPE-EXAMPLE <br /> PART I-GENERAL <br /> 1.01 WORK INCLUDED <br /> Construction of the reclamation slope,demising berm,&miscellaneous compacted fill as shown on the Construction <br /> Drawings and as specified herein,including foundation preparation,keyway excavation,dewatering,fill placement, <br /> moisture control,compaction,and final shaping. <br /> 1.02 RELATED WORK <br /> A. Section 02100-Site Preparation <br /> B. Section 02140-Dewatering <br /> C. Section 02200-General Earthwork <br /> PART 2-MATERIALS <br /> 2.01 RECLAMATION SLOPE,DEMISING BERM,&MISCELLANEOUS COMPACTED FILL <br /> Reclamation slopes and a demising berm will be constructed. One reclamation slope will be constructed in the east <br /> mining area. If overburden is used for the fill material,finished slopes shall be no steeper than 3 horizontal to 1 vertical <br /> (3:1,h:v). If bedrock is utilized for the fill material,finished slopes shall be no steeper than 4 horizontal to 1 vertical <br /> (4:1,h:v). Use of other material will require approval by the Engineer. <br /> The redamation slope and demising soil/bedrock shall be obtained from required excavations,borrow areas,or <br /> stockpiles. The soils shall be free of any deleterious materials,including materials larger than 3",or as specified by the <br /> Engineer. Oversize rock fragments shall be wasted as approved by the Engineer or stockpiled for use in other areas <br /> when found to be acceptable to the Engineer. <br /> Bedrock from the mine bottom shall be borrowed from areas shown on the plans. Bedrock borrow areas shall not <br /> encroach within 50 feet of the base of the reclamation slope or demising berm. Side slopes of the bedrock borrow <br /> areas shall not be steeper than 6 horizontal to 1 vertical(6:1,h:v). The maximum depth of the bedrock borrow 5-feet. <br /> 02/18 Section 02290-Page 1 of 6 <br />
