Public Notice <br /> Notice of Proposed Decision <br /> The Colorado Division of Reclamation, Mining <br /> and Safety has issued a proposed decision to <br /> approve Bond Release Application No. 12 <br /> (SL-12) for the Keenesburg Strip Mine, Permit <br /> No. C-1981-028. This proposed decision is for <br /> a Phase II bond release of 9.68 acres for Area <br /> 30 and a Phase III bond release of 30.55 acres <br /> for Areas 23, 29, 30, and 31 . The surface <br /> operation is operated by Coors Energy <br /> Company under the provisions of the Colorado <br /> Surface Coal Mining Reclamation Act of 1979. <br /> The bond release application was submitted by <br /> Coors Energy Company on May 14, 2024. This <br /> application requests Phase II release of Area 30 <br /> (9.68 acres) and Phase III bond release of <br /> Areas 23, 29, 30, and 31 (30.55 acres; all areas <br /> but Area 30 were previously approved for Phase <br /> II release). All four areas are in the southwest <br /> corner of the site.
