Cervi Sand Mine-Piezometers
Weld County, Colorado
Revision 1
Proposed Construction
Based on the provided information and marked up site plan (Cervi Soil Survey Map (Mine
Area) w Proposed Piezometer Locations.pdt), we understand that the geotechnical data
has been requested in support of a proposed sand quarry operation. Temporary
groundwater monitoring and observation holes have been requested in this area to
measure the depth to groundwater.
The project site is shown on Figure 1. If our described understanding/interpretation
of the proposed project is incorrect or project elements differ in any way from that
expressed above, including changes to the location of the alignment, dimensions,
orientations, elevations/grades, etc., and/or structures/site improvements are
incorporated into this project, either after the original information was provided to
us or after the date of this report, GROUND or another geotechnical engineer must
be retained to reevaluate the conclusions and parameters presented herein.
Site Conditions
At the time of our subsurface exploration,
the project site consisted of a largely
vacant parcel with local oil and gas ; ,F
development. A gravel-surfaced access . 1 > g
road was observed to the north of the site 1 ,
which extended north towards US-34 «max " °` `
Barbed wire fences were observed along
the margins of site. They also partitioned 7.' ,
the site, with fences extending through the ;`_ .,> ; r r sr , tro!•,,
central and southern portions of the site. A € . " ` ` =` ' "`-
cattle water trough and an oil and gas
tanks and piping were noted to the west of
Test Hole 3. Another gravel-surfaced
access road extended northeast from the
oil and gas tanks towards the access road
north of the site. An overhead utility
alignment extended north-south near the
.1414
eastern margin of the site, and appeared t.
to include powerlines. The remainder of t ` k
the site supported medium to tall grasses t
and weeds.
