series of piezometers to identify the groundwater elevation and the thickness of the deposit
that can be mined, but mining will stay above the anticipated groundwater elevation by a
minimum of one and half feet during mining operations.
Processing will involve physical separation equipment including conveyors and screens
followed by some drying on an as needed basis. No other chemicals or reagents will be
used in the screening process. The screened reject materials will be returned to areas where
they were excavated and be regraded across these sites prior to re-application of topsoil.
Therefore, neither mining nor processing will expose the groundwater or introduce
elements that could be harmful to the groundwater or surface water above the mining area
or in the surrounding area.
(3) The Operator/Applicant shall provide an estimate of the project water requirements
including flow rates and annual volumes for the development, mining and reclamation
phases of the project.
Dust control will require minimal water to be sourced and brought in from off site on an as
needed basis.
(4) The Operator/Applicant shall indicate the projected amount from each of the sources of
water to supply the project water requirements for the mining operation and reclamation.
No project water is required. This is a dry pit operation, and no washing is to take place.
This is a dry pit.No water is required, except for the water used for dust control by truck/tanker.
(5) The Operator/Applicant shall affirmatively state that the Operator/Applicant has
acquired (or has applied for) a National Pollutant Discharge Elimination System (NPDES)
permit from the Water Quality Control Division at the Colorado Department of Health and
Environment, if necessary.
As no water will be used in processing and no water will be discharged from this site, it will
not be necessary to obtain a stormwater permit. All precipitation that falls within the boundary
of the permit area will be retained onsite and allowed to infiltrate into the ground within 72
hours of any precipitation event.
CoProp LLC—Rodeo Dunes Mine Page 2 of 2
Construction Materials Regular Operation(112(c))Reclamation Permit Application Form
