RPM,Inc.,25049 E.Alder Dr.,Aurora,CO 80016 Phone:(303)854-7499 Email:hlhumphries2@comcast.net
(i) An estimate of the periods of time which will be required for the various
phases:
Time periods are presented in Table 1 in the Mine Plan section.
(ii) and (iii) describe the size and location of each area; outline the sequence of each
phase:
Please see Table 1 in the Mine Plan section for phases and the Mine Plan Map. The
phases will be reclaimed as discussed above, provided the mined phase and its
reclamation will not interfere with mining in the next phase.
(f) Measures that will be taken to revegetate the site:
(i) Final grade of slopes:
The final grade of all interior pit slopes will be 3H:1 V or less. In addition, the areas
needing reclamation will be graded to blend in with the surrounding area.
The pit floor will be at a final grade of 1.5% or less, away from the toe of the slopes, in
an eastward direction. This will ensure no ponding of rain or snow runoff yet prevent
excessive site erosion.
(ii) Seeding specifications:
The seedbed will be scarified and then drilled or broadcast seeded across the slopes,
where safe. Areas will be seeded with an appropriate drill for the type of seed being
planted. At this point in time, we do not propose to mulch the site after seeding. Given
the slight final slope of the pit floor, mulching the floor the pit would not be beneficial to
seedling establishment. (Operator/Applicant reserves the option to broadcast seed at
twice the drill seeding rate in those areas where drill seeding may present a hazard to
equipment and operators.)
The following is the seed mix based on the already approved 110 Construction Permit.
Purple prairie clover is proposed to be added to the mix with the approval of this
Conversion Application.
32
