July 30, 2024 C-2010-089/New Horizon North Mine LJW

Number of Partial Inspection this Fiscal Year: 1
Number of Complete Inspections this Fiscal Year: 0

the tail water from the irrigated alfalfa field has caused some minor erosion. The spots are two topographic lows,
in which the tailwater has developed a preferential flow path. The erosional features are small, however have
become extremely well vegetated because of the irrigation waters. The increased vegetative cover in these areas
has already begun to self-stabilize the erosional features and they are not considered a problem at this time. The
Operator is aware of the erosion and is monitoring the situation. For now, now further action from the Operator is
needed, and examples of the areas can be seen in Photos Three and Four.

TOPSOIL – Rule 4.06
Removal 4.06.2; Substitute Materials 4.06.4(4); Storage and Protection 4.06.3; Redistribution 4.06.4:
Also observed during the inspection, is the final topsoil stockpile left on site for landowner use, located in
the Northeast corner of the site. The stockpile is marked appropriately, and well vegetated for stability. No
evidence of erosion or material transport was noted, and the pile appeared to be stable. The stockpile can be seen
in Photo Five and is in good condition.

PHOTOGRAPHS
