LANEsToN
CONCRETE INC.
areas." The decision to place the material was made when we discovered we were out of places
to store it for future reclamation purposes.
After the inspection with the DRMS official on Jan. 23, 2024, we were informed that the
area we stored the material on needs to be added to the permitted area. Thereby adding it to the
affected area. DRMS came back out to the property on February 21st, 2024 to GPS the corners of
the additional parcel and to evaluate how much acreage was actually disturbed. Based on the
GPS coordinates, it appears the stockpile we created encompasses an area of 2.8acres.
With the addition of the 5acres to the permitted area, we will have a new permitted area
of 82.4acres. Given the situation we have come to, would like to ask to increase to 70acres of
maximum allowed disturbed area.
On a side note, we would like to note something to the Division. We currently have
29.47acres within the gravel pit that we call "stockpile area." This area is all but"reclaimed"
given the current reclamation plan and the post mining land use listed as being "industrial." The
reclamation plan states "(T)the pit floor will be leveled and a 6"-12" plate of pit run material will
be left." Our stockpile area is such. We are simply still using it for stockpiling our products for
future retail sales. In our opinion this area is about as close to being reclaimed as anything we
have on the property. If our operation were to cease tomorrow, the stockpiles could/would be
sold off and the land that is left would be fully reclaimed.
Enclosed you will find the necessary documents we feel are applicable to the amendment
and technical revision request. We will do our best to explain the operation and how we feel it
will or will not affect the existing operation.
A check for $216.00 to pay for the fee is also enclosed for the technical revision aspect of
the requested items.
If the requests are found to be complete per your standards, we will continue the next
steps in the proposed operation.
Thank you,
Z.
