Partial Phase I Bond Release SL-14 was received on March 4, 2021. The release <br /> included the plugging and abandonment of 15 Mine Ventilation Boreholes (MVBs), <br /> three monitoring wells and two exploration drill holes; and the backfilling and regrading <br /> of a total of 12.05 acres of associated drill pads and roads. The Division issued its <br /> proposed decision to approve the Partial Phase I Bond Release SL-14 on November 24, <br /> 2021 and released $146,798.23 <br /> Partial Phase I Bond Release SL-15 was received on January 26, 2022. The release <br /> included the plugging and abandonment of 12 Mine Ventilation Boreholes (MVBs), and <br /> the backfilling and regrading of a total of 11.67 acres of associated drill pads and roads. <br /> The Division issued its proposed decision to approve the Partial Phase I Bond Release <br /> SL-15 on September 26, 2022, and released $143,551.21 <br /> Partial Phase II Bond Release SL-16 was received on October 20, 2022. The release <br /> included the successful redistribution of topsoil and the establishment of vegetative cover <br /> adequate to control erosion on 14.36 acres of Exploration and Mine Ventilation Borehole <br /> pads and associated access roads. The Division issued its proposed decision to approve <br /> the Partial Phase H Bond Release SL-16 on February 10, 2024 and released $23,120.36 <br /> The Division received MCC's application for a Partial Phase III Bond Release on November 8, <br /> 2022. The application was deemed complete on December 19, 2022, after the Division received <br /> proof of publication of the applicant's public notice. MCC published notice of the bond release <br /> application in the Delta County Independent once weekly for four consecutive weeks, beginning <br /> November 16, 2022. MCC also notified landowners within and adjacent to the mine permit area, <br /> and other interested parties of the application for bond release, as required by Rule 3.03.2(l). <br /> No comments, written objections, or requests for an informal conference regarding the bond <br /> release application were received by the Division. <br /> The Division scheduled and conducted a bond release inspection on June 27-29, 2023, which <br /> allowed time for snow to melt and roads to dry out. The site inspection was conducted in <br /> accordance with Rule 3.03.2(2). The inspection was attended by Leigh Simmons (Division), <br /> Tom Medlin (OSMRE), Dan Gray (USFS) and Garren Atchley, Mark Peirce, and Cody Rapke <br /> (MCC). No representative of the BLM was present, although the agency had been notified by <br /> certified mail. A follow-up email was sent to the Division by MCC on August 8, 2023, <br /> documenting the spraying of weeds that had been identified during the inspection.
