MINING PLAN EXHIBIT D(CONT)
stockpiles will be located around the excavation (their
approximate locations are shown on the MINING PLAN MAP to reduce
the haul distances when reclamation starts . If the soil
stockpiles remain undisturbed for more than one year a cover
crop of the proposed seed mix at a rate of 2 pounds-pls/100 sq-
ft will be planted on them.
MINING PLAN
Of the 44 . 49 acres ± in the permit area a maximum of 40 . 01
acres ± will be disturbed by the mining operation. Presented
in this mining plan are detail plans for developing the mine
leaving the outer slope along the river as sight berms to
shield the mining operations from surrounding areas on the
north, west and most of the south sides . The south end of the
existing 110 permit area was mined into the hill side and this
day lighting will continue in that area until it reaches the
fence line on the west side. It will then move north into the
deposit leaving a 15 foot side setback along the
Permit/Affected Land line (fence) as shown on EXHIBIT F-1 -RECLAMATION
PLAN MAP.
A 15-foot digline setback will be maintained along the
permit boundary to leave adequate space on the level above the
slope for fence line access, fence maintenance, grading and
shaping. As mining progresses north and west a 25 foot setback
from both sides of the power poles will be maintained leaving a
50 foot wide strip for access to the powerline. Except on the
east end where the plan is to mine between the first two
eastern most poles to connect the mine floor north and south of
the power lines . San Luis Valley Rural Electric was contacted
to discuss this plan and work out any concerns they had. They
were OK with the plan and have provided a letter giving Big
Bull Dog Trucking, Inc. permission to mine within 200 feet of
the powerlines .
Please use the MINING PLAN AND RECLAMATION PLAN MAPs during review
of the following text for the areas discussed. They show how
the site would look as mining progresses and ends .
Mining began in the southeast corner of the 110 permit
site and will continue, as shown on the EXHIBITC-1 -MINING PLAN MAP, to
the west and north. The Plant Site/stockpile area will remain
in the 110 permit area initially, where it is below the sight
Big Bull Dog Trucking, Inc.
