This report was written by Todd Jesse of the Division. Clayton Wein of the Division <br />also attended the inspection. The operator, Blue Mountain Energy (BME) was represented by Kurt Blunt during <br />the inspection. The weather was sunny and around 70° F at the start of the inspection. The ground conditions <br />were dry and the entire mine site was accessible to travel. <br />Maintenance Items Identified During This Inspection: <br />1. Please fill animal burrows on embankments of ponds PP-2, RP-5, RP-4, and RP-2/3 <br />2. Please repair the rills on the embankments to Pond RP-4. <br />Please complete Burrow repair no later than July 28, 2024. Please provide the Division with photos of the <br />completed maintenance item by July 28, 2024. Please complete repairing the rills on the embankments of <br />Pond RP-4 when regrading the refuse pile slopes above the pond in the spring. <br /> <br />AVAILABILITY OF RECORDS – Rule 5.02.4(1): <br /> The records for the Derado Mine are located at the mine office with Kurt Blunt. The records were well <br />kept and up to date. NPDS records were next to the binder and need to be added to binder. The APEN permit is <br />currently in the renewal process. The permit expired 1/12/2024. The ATFE Explosives Permit will also expire at <br />the beginning of July. <br /> <br />BACKFILL and GRADING – Rule 4.14 <br />Contemporaneous Reclamation 4.14.1; Approximate Original Contour 4.14.2; Highwall Elimination 4.14.1(2)(f); <br />Steep Slopes 4.14.2, 4.27; Handling of Acid and Toxic Materials 4.14.3; Stabilization of Rills and Gullies 4.14.6: <br /> Halandras Landfill has been backfilled and graded to AOC (Photo 1). No topsoil has been spread on the <br />site. The topsoil pile that remains next to the landfill appears to be of sufficient size to complete reclamation.
